Europe.

Life is a journey, not a destination.

Welcome aboard ! Add new routes in your life !

Hello world ! Let's get acquainted I am Chernov Roman the author of this blog. Welcome to the world of travel !

I was born and raised in Moscow in 1978.  By education Printer of a wide profile (in a printing house). Engaged in human rights activities, a photographer and I am writing a book. In 1997 I had to move to St. Petersburg, then to Amsterdam, Copenhagen... I fell in love with learning new things, meeting interesting people, taking pictures and writing reviews. Moving from city to city, I realized that I can not live without traveling. When I turned 40, I decided to dedicate my all life to traveling. My favorite hobbies are traveling, running and photography. I like to see new places, to meet new people and other cultures. Here are some of the places we will see here. This is a trip to the best cities in the world : Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Gouda, Utrecht, Norderney, Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bremen, Vilnius, Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kaliningrad, Anapa...

Sometimes one day spent in other places gives more than ten years of living at home.

We will visit many interesting cities and towns.

Traveling is my way of life. And I decided to tell you about my travels, to describe the places we visited. Go !

Friends took a picture of the plane in which I fly. Thank you !

The Netherlands informally Holland.

The Netherlands, a country in northwestern Europe. The Netherlands is a flat country known for its canals, tulip fields, windmills and bike paths.

The Netherlands is a small but very interesting country. It seems this is a country of bicycles. Bikepaths follow every car road. Every village you can reach by bicycle. Also there are many canals and it's possible to trvavel the country by a vessel.

The centre of Amsterdam is overcrowded every Summer weekend.

One of the main tourist attractions of the city is The Red Lights District that can be dangerous at evenings.

We liked two weeks of Amsterdam Gay Pride, especially Gay Pride on Canals. Of course we visited famous FEBO fast food restaurants, Vondelpark, brown bars, Freddy's bar that was opened by Freddy Heineken. And Heineken Experience (Brewery Museum), The biggest Homomonument in the world. And many other famous museums.

Also we visited Zandvoort that is situated on the shore of The North Sea. This city is famous because of its beaches.

We enjoyed celebration of The Harvest Day in Drenthe province and lived in a bungalo in Dwingeloo.

We liked very much fisherman villages and visited one of Museums of Windmills called Museummolen Schermerhorn. The old windmills were in exellent condition and worked pumping the water.

There are a lot of modern windmills which produce electricity in the Netherlands.

Definitely deserves a visit !

The friendliest and most diverse city.

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands.

Famous Amsterdam. The city is the capital of the Netherlands and it's very beautiful. You can entirely walk along its canals and enjoy cosy, chocolate houses. There are many museums of many kinds in the city. It's not impossible to not fall in love with Amsterdam. Each year the city holds Amsterdam Gay Pride - two weeks of street parties, gay events and, of  course Amsterdam Gay Parade on Canals !

Complete harmony with nature. Animals are safe here.

Passenger Terminal Amsterdam is dé eventlocatie in hartje Amsterdam met een waanzinnig uitzicht op het IJ en de binnenstad.

The Amstel is a river in the Netherlands, from which the city of Amsterdam takes its name.

Party in Amsterdam on the banks of the Amstel river.

What could be more pleasant than relaxing on the river bank with a bottle of the famous Netherlandish beer. Drinking Amstel beer on the Amstel river. P. S. To get a beautiful text, I had to replace the name beer from Heineken with Amstel.

World famous beer Heineken. By the way, in Russia will suspend the production and sale of the legendary beer under the Heineken brand in 2022. P.S. I love the story behind this brand and Mr. Freddie Heineken. In addition, my life is closely connected with this brewery, so I say that the Heineken empire will remain in my life, no matter what. We will return to the history of Dutch brewing a little later.

I AMsterdam. Capital of the Netherlands.
Flowers on The Homomonument in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Homomonument is a memorial in the centre of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. It commemorates all gay men and lesbians who have been persecuted because of their sexual orientation. Opened on 5 September 1987, it was the first monument in the world to commemorate gays and lesbians who were killed by the Nazis. As always, I bought flowers at Bloemenmarkt and laid a bouquet of roses on Homomonument.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Love to travel ? Do it !

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol - the most important air gate in Europe. Also Schiphol has large shopping areas as a source of revenue and as an additional attraction for passengers. Schiphol Plaza not only connects the three terminal halls but also houses other facilities. This is a large pre-security shopping centre and the Schiphol Airport railway station. These facilities are also attracting general visitors. Schiphol also has a mortuary where the bodies of the deceased are processed and stored before shipment or after arrival. Since October 2006, you can get married in Schiphol

Notable public artworks in the airport include the Schipol clock by Maarten Baas, in which a man behind a translucent screen appears to paint the minutes of an analog clock by hand.

Gouda, South Holland.

Gouda is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, between Rotterdam and Utrecht, in the province of South Holland. Gouda is a small town but its history is interesting. On the main square near old City Hall you can visit Cheese Market on some days of the week. You can buy tasty cheese and watch wonderful performance.
You can go outside the city and visit Couda Lakes and have a good picnic outside the town. Lakes are in an hour walking away from the centre of the town or even less. A city also famous for its Gouda cheese, stroopwafels (dutch waffles), many grachten (urban shipping channel), drawbridges, smoking pipes, and its 15th-century city hall. Its array of historic churches and other buildings makes it a very popular.

If you love cheese then you should visit this place.

Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Utrecht is a student sity. It's much bigger than Gouda. There are many attractions for adults and children in the city. Museum Speelklok is siutable for whole family. Your children will be so happy to visit this museum. There is a wonderful canal in the centre of Utrecht which is called De Oudegracht. Willem-Alexander, king of the Netherlands was born in Utrecht. So do many world famous people. There are many, I will list them later.

The Oudegracht in Utrecht center.

Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Rotterdam is a modern port city where you can enjoy views of the city from Euromast Tower. The centre of Rotterdam really looks like a city of the future ! Don't forget have a lunch at famous restaurant De Ballentent where prices are affordable. Visit statue of Russian Tzar, Peter the Great, on the waterfront Westerkade...

This restaurant is situated in The Port of Rotterdam, not far from The Euromast Tower and a park. Prices are low and you can have a great lunch just for 4,60 €.

Dwingeloo.

Dwingeloo is a village halfway between Meppel and Assen in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Westerveld.

The village is known internationally because of the radio telescope of the Dwingeloo Radio Observatory (which at the time of its completion in 1956 was the largest radio telescope in the world), located on the edge of the Dwingeloo Heath, 3 km south of the village.

National park Dwingelderveld.

Soon we will visit this famous telescope.

A harvest festival is an annual celebration that occurs around the time of the main harvest... Church bells could be heard on each day of the harvest.

Porto is a city on the northwest coast of Portugal with export bridges and wineries where port wine is exported. The medieval district of Ribeira (translated from kindergarten - "river bank") is famous for its paved streets with cafes and merchants' houses. The Church of St. Francis has a rich baroque interior with carved gilded wood. In the port stands the Palace of the Stock Exchange - built in the XIX building, which was supposed to impress the presence.

Along with Sé, Ribeira is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Porto. It is part of the historic centre and is a World Heritage Centre, protected by UNESCO since 1996. Located on the south hillside of Porto, Ribeira is one of the most visited places in the city.

The Caucasus Mountains is a mountain range at the intersection of Asia and Europe. Stretching between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, it is surrounded by the Caucasus region and is home to Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe at 5,642 metres above sea level.

I have been to The North Caucasus: Zheleznovodsk, Nalchik, Yessentuki, Chegem, Mineralnye Vody, Pyatigorsk. I also have visited Elbrus region, Dombay... There are plenty interesting, beautiful places to visit in Russia !

Outside its walls is Red Square, Russia's symbolic center. It's home to Lenin’s Mausoleum, the State Historical Museum's comprehensive collection and St. Basil’s Cathedral, known for its colorful, onion-shaped domes. Gouda, South Holland.

It's an incredible adventure in a small friendly town.

Gouda is an incredible adventure in a small friendly town and the namegiver to the famous Dutch cheese. Gouda is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, between Rotterdam and Utrecht, in the province of South Holland. Gouda is a small town but its history is interesting.

On the main square near old City Hall you can visit the Cheese Market on Thursdays, from April onto the end of August. The traditional market dates back from 1395. You can buy tasty cheese and watch wonderful folkloristic performances.

There is a modern and free toilet in the central square. Also in the city there are Dutch-style urinals a bit similar to Amsterdam ones.

You can go outside the city and visit the Reeuwijkse Plassen, or the Goudse Hout, lakes in and around Gouda for a good picnic outside the town. Lakes are in an hour walking away from the centre of the town or even less. A city also famous for its Gouda cheese, stroopwafels (dutch waffles) and candles many grachten (urban shipping canals), historical drawbridges, decorated clay pipes, and its 15th-century city hall. Its array of historic churches and other buildings makes it a very popular tourist destination.

A visit to the city can easily be combined with a visit to the site of Kinderdijk, a collection of historical windmills that still function and are recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage. Visiting this area is a true unique experience, since this part of the Netherlands is a few meters below sea-level and is for 700 years protected by dikes and water management by pumps and windmills.
