Hamburg is the second-largest city of Germany with a population of roughly 1.8 million people. Hamburg is situated on the river Elbe and is home to Europe's second-largest port. The city is an international and domestic tourist destination.
During our holiday in Hamburg we found the city very clean and sportive.
There are many places to visit in Hamburg. Every summer you can enjoy Water-light concerts at Planten un Blomen park. The 110-metre-high (361-foot) Elbphilharmonie concert hall provides free tickets to its balcony from which everyone can enjoy wonderful views of The Port of Hamburg and HafenCity. If the weather is fine and it is a hot summer day you can visit the beach located in Altona borough and swim in the River Elbe.
Everyone can visit other side of the River Elbe where The Port Of Hamburg is situated. This is an industrial part of the city. You can get there via The Old Elbe Tunnel of Hamburg. It is a pedestrian and vehicle tunnel opened in 1911. The tunnel was built for port workers who needed a new and more modern and comfortable way to get to their work.
The Inner and Outer Alster Lakes are situated in central part of Hamburg. They are formed by the Alster River. The Lakes and its shores are used by the inhabitants of Hamburg and tourists for many recreational purposes, such as sailing and rowing, running etc.
Hamburg is a wonderful city which has a rich history and penty things to see and to do.
Welcome to the city of Hamburg !
